About Juicy Kicks
As a dance music producer, mix & mastering engineer, one of the most common areas for improvement I see when working on other artists' tracks is the kick. Sometimes, the kick just isn’t right for the track - wrong weight, wrong punch, etc.
For producers mixing in bedrooms or untreated rooms, hearing kick drums accurately can be tough.
At the same time, there’s a crazy over supply of samples. Massive libraries like Splice can be great, but a lot of the time we end up scrolling through hundreds of “meh” options and rarely land on something that works.
That's why I decided to create the 'Juicy Kicks' series.
Instead of putting more 'meh' kick samples out there, I wanted to give you a short list of good kick samples you will actually use, for free. Because swapping a weak or mediocre kick for a great one is one of the most impactful moves we can make when writing or mixing a house track.
Each pack is a tightly curated collection of kick drums that are mix-ready and inspired by the biggest modern tech house records being played around the world today.
I use these kicks regularly in my own productions and when mixing for artists who’ve gone on to sign releases with labels like Low Ceiling Records, Other Dimension Records, Force of Habit Records, WEPLAY Music, and others.
I hope you find some use out of them, and wish you all the best in your productions.
